THE NEHEMIAH IDEOLOGY FOR AFRICA

Africa is a place of stupendous resources and wonderful potentials that have not been fully harnessed. It is a continent of 54 sovereign states with a land mass of over 30 million square kilometres. Although laden with abundant natural resources, Africa still hosts the world’s most impoverished people, the highest number of underdeveloped nations and the least stable and violence-free environments. This is largely because of a leadership vacuum, translated into a sense of despair and hopelessness in certain quarters. Ironically, in the midst of despair has arisen a new prophetic vision of an Africa rising from the doldrums of backwardness into a new season of triumph and transformation.

It is against this background of hope in the midst of hopelessness, that Africa needs visionary leaders, whose ideas and ideals can serve as a fresh foundation for meaningful development. Such leaders must be pragmatic thinkers and harbingers of a Holy Spirit-inspired redemptive ideology.
