Angels will be commissioned by God to give individuals strategic information, especially at moments when they are heading on a wrong course. This will especially be the experience of African’s and people with an African heritage in their moments of affliction and persecution.
Hagar, the Egyptian maid of Abraham, was dealt with harshly by Sarah because she despised her mistress after Abraham made her pregnant by Sarah’s permission. She fled from her mistress, Sarah, but was intercepted by the angel of the Lord in the wilderness. The angel asked her to “return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hand” (Genesis 16:9). The angel also declared that the Lord will multiply her descendants exceedingly so that they shall not be counted for multitude. More significantly, Hagar was given a strategic information which she did not hitherto have. “And the Angel of the Lord said to her: “Behold, you are with child, and you shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, because the Lord has heard your affliction” (Genesis 16:11).
Notice that it took an angel to restore Hagar’s relationship with Sarah, and to give her a strategic information which she was ignorant of. Even when she was eventually thrust out (when Sarah had her own son), it also took the ministry of an angel to deliver her and her son from hunger and dehydration in the wilderness. Hagar left her master’s house with a bottle of water and a loaf of bread. When the water finished in the wilderness, she cast away her son the distance of a bow-shot, and wept. Hagar had concluded that her child would die, for she said, “Let me not see the death of the child”.
It was at this point that “… the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, “What ails you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise, lift up the lad and hold him with your hand, for I will make him a great nation” (Genesis 21:17-18).
God opened Hagar’s eyes, and she saw a well of water. She left Abraham’s house with a bottle of water but God opened her eyes to the well in her wilderness.
Again God gave Hagar strategic information on the destiny of her child and opened her eyes to see the strategic resource needed to sustain him to fulfill his destiny. Angels will give many Africans in the wilderness strategic information about their destiny. They will not only restore relationships but also resources in the wilderness. Whenever the devil moves you to think about death in 2018, ask God to send you angels who will activate your covenant of life and peace with God.
