A throne is a royal seat. It is the symbol of legal authority. The Dictionary in Dickson‟s Analytical Study Bible describes a throne as “an elevated seat occupied by a person of authority. He may be a king, a governor, a military officer, a high priest, a judge.” Thrones are centres for the devolution of power and authority. They are vital to the survival of any nation. The character of a throne often determines the spiritual climate over the nation. This is why the process of building such a throne and electing or appointing the person that should sit on it is vital.

Thrones can make or mar the redemptive agenda of a nation. Thrones can deny citizens the ability to exercise their redemptive gifts. Thrones can bring a nation into progressive prosperity or diminishing influence. Often, crises in nations can be linked to the moral decay of their thrones. Civilizations have been wiped out into oblivion, not so much because of external aggression as by the agency of internal corruption directly linked to iniquity perpetuated by occupants of thrones.

It is against this background that God expects us to build the type of thrones that will support and sustain the last move of God in the nations. These sets of thrones can be identified as rainbow thrones. They are the seats of authority upon which kings after

God’s heart will reign. They are the royal centres of knowledge, understanding and wisdom. They are the centres of mercy and truth, righteousness and justice. Rainbow thrones will be the last sets of thrones that will rise up in nations which will be redeemed by the fire of the ultimate revival that will hit the earth before the second coming of the Lord Jesus.
