PROPHETIC MARRIAGES IN THE NEW APOSTOLIC ERA (Soft Copy)

Physical marriage is supposed to point us to a more glorious relationship. It is a vehicle for the fulfillment of God’s agenda. Because God teaches us spiritual lessons using physical typologies, He created the union of a man and a woman in marriage to explain the mystical union between a person saved by grace and Himself. Apostle Paul stated this when he observed that the union of a husband and wife is merely a pointer to the mystical union of Christ and the Church (see Eph. 5:25).

In this union, the Church is supposed to fulfill a clear-cut agenda. First, it is supposed to be the light to the world and the salt of the earth. Second, it is supposed to be an instrument of spiritual violence against the kingdom of darkness, God’s weapon of redemption and restoration, His battle axe for ensuring that the will of God is done on earth, as it is in Heaven.

Many couples marry with the sole motive of loving each other, having children and being financially independent without understanding that their union is a vehicle for fulfilling greater redemptive purposes. Every marriage should be a prophetic pointer to a battle God is raising a family to fight on behalf of His Kingdom. Couples, therefore, must not see their union as an end in itself, but as a means to an end, a signpost to an eternal destination, a vehicle for transporting God’s will into the lives of other men and women
