The gift of the word of wisdom is related to the gift of the word of knowledge. The difference between the two is that one is directive while the other is revelatory. The word of knowledge is used to reveal a spiritual condition of a people, while the word of wisdom is used to direct one on how to rectify this condition.
The word of wisdom referred to here is neither human wisdom (Ecclesiastes 1:16-18) nor satanic wisdom (James 3:14-15). Rather, it is divine wisdom, the one with which the principalities and powers in heavenly place might be taught the manifold wisdom of God by the Church (Ephesians 3:10).
The purpose of the Word of Wisdom is to:
PROFER SOLUTION TO A DIFFICULT SITUATION
“For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, And in a multitude of counselors there is safety” (Proverbs 24:6). The Common English Bible Version says, “You should make war guidance, victory comes with many counsellors.” “Then the king said, “Bring me a sword.” So they brought a sword before the king” (1 Kings 3:24).

LAY OUT THE STRATEGY FOR BATTLE
“And the LORD said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor. You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days. And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. It shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him” (Joshua 6:2-5).
REVEAL THE PLAN AND PURPOSE OF GOD
“Now Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples aside on the road and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death, and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again” (Matthew 20:17-19).
There is no difficult situation you are currently facing or will face that the God cannot provide solution to. There is no future purpose you seek to fulfil that the Holy Spirit cannot give you a word of knowledge concerning.
On the wings of the Dove, the strategies for future battles can be revealed. Learn to build up your most holy faith by praying in the Holy Ghost to receive the word of wisdom.
Joshua received a word of wisdom on how to execute the battle of Jericho. Ordinarily, the strategy for Joshua’s first battle to conquer the Promised Land seemed awkward and innocuous. Nevertheless, this was what was needed to possess the first foothold of the land because it proceeded from the Lord.
Every human strategy in the battle between light and darkness will fail, but not those devised and deployed on the wings of the Dove. Be led by the Spirit in the battle between good and evil. Romans 8:14 says, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” Be a son of God! Ride on the wings of the wind.
