The mountain of the Lord’s House is the sphere of influence dominated by the church which, in the Old Testament context, is often identified as Zion. The mountain of the Lord’s house will be exalted because of the redemptive work of contemporary Nehemiahs. The ideas and ideals they profess-based in the Nehemiah Ideology, will become the guiding light, translated into policies and programmes in all the other spheres or gateways of the nations. In other words, leaders in business, government, education, the media and from families will come to the Nehemiahs in Zion with an unusual request – “Teach us God’s ways”. These Nehemiahs on the mountain of the Lord’s house will, therefore, be used by God to deliver, disciple and deploy their kind on all the other mountains. From all the spheres and gateways of influence will arise a multitude of Nehemiahs who walk in God’s path. Zion, or the Mountain of the Lord’s House will no longer just be a sphere of influence. Its ideas, ideals, patterns and programmes will permeate every other sphere of influence. “…For out of Zion shall go forth the law and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem.” It is for this reason that the Nehemiahs of Zion must begin the process of influencing every other sphere of life by repairing the broken walls and burnt gates of Jerusalem, wherein Zion is located. Unless the broken walls and burnt gates of Jerusalem are rebuilt, Zion or the Mountain of the Lord’s House cannot fulfil its mandate of magnetising or forcibly attracting the discouraged and desperate leaders of the other spheres to the mountain of the Lord’s House for solutions to their problems. The broken walls of Jerusalem and its burnt gates must be repaired and rebuilt to provoke the nations to flow to it with the words “…come and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways and we will walk in His path. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”
The task of rebuilding the walls and gates of Zion or church is indispensable for restoring all the other mountains, spheres or gateways of nations in Africa. The walls and gates of the church are currently broken and burnt with fire. Its members, whether prophets, priests or parishioners, are in great distress around the world, particularly in the Middle East and in Africa. They are persecuted, oppressed and often killed without any repercussion against their persecutors. Zion is in great distress and reproach and the contemporary Nehemiahs must begin the process of rebuilding the desolations of Africa from the gateways of the church. An indolent and ignorant church cannot rebuild its own broken walls, talk less of being envisioned to rebuild the burnt gates of other spheres of influence. The current thinking, which is unfruitful and unbiblical, is that the church should not dabble into “the politics” of exercising influence in government. This by implication is saying that the citizens of Zion should fold their hands and allow the Sanballats, Tobiahs and Geshens to set the agenda in education, economic affairs, family matters and in everything that relates to the media and to culture in the nations. This is a panacea for the total obliteration of what is left of the church, the agency that should be so potent, that the Sanballat Company are forced or compelled to come to it with the words, “Teach us God’s ways”.
