This is another fundamental way of contending with intellectual idolatry and decay in society. Secular humanists have often argued that science is anti-thetical to faith in God, that the Bible is a concoction of myths and that the creation of the universe by God is a fallacy.
These arguments have swayed many ignorant people, including professing Christians. It is therefore important to win back such people by logically presenting the scientific evidence is vital for establishing why it is imperative for God to set the moral parameters for man in relation to the rest of creation. The denial that this universe was created by God has led naturalists to declare that there is no purpose to man, no absolute standards for judging right and wrong and no life after death. Only proof to the contrary will compel people to reflect on the purpose for life, the ethical foundations for relationships and the essence of eternity.
What many Darwinists present as “evolution in action” is nothing but variation in particular species. There is no evidence whatsoever of a dog evolving into any other specie other than a dog. There is no evidence of a chimpanzee evolving into a human being. For evolution to move from a mere theory to a scientific fact there must be evidence of radical change from one specie to a “novel kind of organism”.
The facts of science are more in line with the Biblical fact that every organism was created to reproduce after its own kind. Butterflies will always reproduce butterflies and rats will always reproduce rats. There may be variations of butterflies and rats, but there is no evidence, whatsoever, of any of these creatures evolving into a novel organism.
The only scientific evidence touted to be a link between an ape and a man turned out to be a hoax. “In 1912, Arthur Woodward announced to the world that he had found the missing link between ape and man. Piltdown man, as he called it, consisted of a jawbone and a piece of skull which he estimated to be over 500,000 years old! However, in 1953, when the new fluoride dating process was applied to the bones, scientists were shocked to learn that the jawbone was less than 50 years old. Only then did they notice that the bones and teeth had been treated with salts and filed to make them appear old and primitive. In other words, Piltdown man was a complete fraud… The world’s foremost scientific experts had been fooled for over 40 years!” (http://www.bible.ca/b-science-evidence.htm).
The argument that through mutations and natural selections, species can evolve into a new organism is fatally flawed. A mutation is a distortion of the gene formation of an organism. It is like an error of a carefully designed “coded set of instructions”. Such errors do not lead to the rise of a new organism. On the contrary, they lead to the annihilation of the specie undergoing mutation. In other words, the end result of mutation is not evolution but devolution. Colson and Pearcy rightly argue that “Most mutations are harmful, often lethal to the organism, so that if mutations were to accumulate, the result would more likely be devolution than evolution” (p.85).
God created every living thing to reproduce after its own kind. There is no factual evidence that any inanimate matter ever evolved into an animate organism. There is no evidence that an ape ever evolved into a man.
